What is covered

Under the CHSS SOR-2023, surgical procedure rates cover the surgeon’s fee, assistant’s fee, anaesthesia, operation-theatre and equipment charges at approved package rates, with medicines and consumables billed at 10% below MRP for inpatient care. Some non-medical items may be payable by the beneficiary. We provide a written estimate before admission so there are no surprises.

Robotic cancer surgery is covered. The ISRO-SAC CHSS Schedule of Rates 2023 lists a dedicated Oncology — Robotic Surgery package (for cancer treatment). So eligible CHSS beneficiaries can choose robotic cancer surgery within the scheme — rather than paying the robotic charge out of pocket as under some other schemes.
