The Contributory Health Service Scheme (CHSS) of the Space Applications Centre (SAC), ISRO — Department of Space, Ahmedabad, provides hospital treatment for its employees, pensioners and dependants at empanelled hospitals. At Apollo Hospitals, Bhat, Gandhinagar, cancer surgery is performed by Dr Harsh Shah (GI & robotic cancer surgeon) and Dr Swati Shah (uro-gynaec cancer surgeon), and our team helps CHSS beneficiaries plan the admission and complete the scheme paperwork as per the CHSS Schedule of Rates (SOR) 2023.
Serving employees, pensioners and dependant family members of ISRO / Space Applications Centre (SAC) enrolled under the CHSS, on production of a valid CHSS card and treated as per CHSS rules.
Under the CHSS SOR-2023, surgical procedure rates cover the surgeon’s fee, assistant’s fee, anaesthesia, operation-theatre and equipment charges at approved package rates, with medicines and consumables billed at 10% below MRP for inpatient care. Some non-medical items may be payable by the beneficiary. We provide a written estimate before admission so there are no surprises.

Yes. The CHSS Schedule of Rates 2023 includes a dedicated Oncology — Robotic Surgery package for cancer treatment, so eligible beneficiaries can have robotic cancer surgery within the scheme. Please confirm the current package with your CHSS office at the time of admission.
